Workshop

The workshop is M-F of painting and art instruction in the beautiful mountain area of Lansing, NC which offers exceptional landscapes. From views of a church overlooking the school one can see 360 degrees views of mountain trails, streams, horse farms, barns and old buildings all within walking distance.

Art Instruction

Cher has been familiar with the Ashe County area for over 30 years and has chosen many wonderful painting sites. With a background in illustration, portrait and landscape painting, Cher can guide the begginer and can encourage creative ventures for the more advanced artist. Nature provides the inspiration and Cher will help you capture that inspiration in your own unique style. Cher paints primarily from memory of a place or a gathering of people, her imagination creates the finished painting. However painting outside and capturing the moment has sped up the memory process and she is able to paint in the studio with added inspiraqtion. As an instructor, Cher gives adult artists a sound background in technique and esthetics. Creative inspiration is encouraged along with relaxed attitude toward making art more fun.
